An AI story game where you write the choices
An interactive story game with no script. Pick a world, say who you are, and type what you do: an AI narrator writes what happens next, plays everyone else in the story, and remembers all of it. No list of options to pick from and no fixed ending. Free every day, no sign-up.
Glimora is for adults aged 18 and over. Choose Your Own Adventure is a trademark of Chooseco LLC; Glimora is not affiliated.

How a turn works
An action. "Climb through the vent." The narrator writes what happens.
Dialogue. Whatever you type, your character says out loud.
Take the pen for a beat: the storm, the arrival, the betrayal. Then hand it back.
What the narrator writes
This is one real turn. A smuggler on a harbour at night carries a package the watch must not find. Instead of hiding, the player typed one line and walked straight up to them; the narrator wrote what happened and stopped at the next decision. That is the whole game: you say what you do, the story answers, and none of it was written before you got there.
You
Do: "I walk straight up to the watchmen and ask them to help me find my missing contact."
The three watchmen stop at the sound of your boots. The one with the lantern—a scarred man with a salt-and-pepper beard—lifts it higher, squinting as you approach. His two companions rest hands on sword hilts, the younger one shifting his weight like he's eager for an excuse.
"Lost, are you?" the bearded man says, his tone flat. He lets his gaze drift down to your coat, then back to your face. "Bit late for a dockside stroll, unless you're waiting on something."
The other two fan out slightly, one stepping to your left to block the gap between a stack of lobster traps and a mooring post. You've got maybe ten feet of open space between you and them, lantern-lit and slick with fish scales. Behind you, the Grey Gull rocks gently in its berth.
"I don't recall seeing a woman matching your description come through tonight," the bearded watchman continues. He takes a slow step closer. "Who's this contact supposed to be?"

What an AI story game is
In a classic interactive story game, writers prepare every branch in advance and you choose between the options they wrote. A choose-your-own-adventure book gives you two doors; a choice-based story app gives you three lines of dialogue. Whatever you pick, someone already wrote what comes next.
In an AI story game the next scene does not exist until you act. An AI narrator writes it at the moment you play, around what you just did, so the story can go anywhere you take it: pick the lock, lie to the captain, follow the stranger, or walk away from the whole thing.
How you play
Pick a world: fantasy, science fiction, horror, mystery or after the apocalypse, or describe your own in a line. Say who you are and what people call you. The narrator opens in the middle of a scene and stops where your character has to act.
Each turn you choose how to move. Do is an action: "I climb through the vent." Say is dialogue: whatever you type, your character says out loud, and the other characters answer with their own plans. Narrate hands you the pen for a beat, the storm arriving or the letter waiting on the desk, and the narrator carries on from there.
Not sure what to do? Three suggested moves appear under every scene, written for the moment you are in; tap one or ignore them. Continue lets the narrator go on without you, Retry rewrites the last scene, and Undo steps back one move.
Choices you write yourself
The narrator decides what happens from the logic of the world and the people in it, not from a list of allowed moves. A careful plan tends to work and a reckless one has a price. Characters react to how you have treated them, and the story keeps track of what has already happened.
There is no score, no fixed ending and no game-over screen. The story goes on until you stop, and you can always come back to it.
A story that remembers
About 6,000 words of your story stay in the narrator's view on every turn on the free plan, twice that on Plus and four times on Pro, so what happened in the first chapter still matters in the ninth.
For the facts that must never drift, there are story cards: pin a character, a place or a rule of your world and the narrator recalls it whenever it comes up. Plot essentials, such as who you are and what you are trying to do, sit in the narrator's mind on every turn.
Every story is saved privately. Play without an account and it stays on the device you used; sign in with Google once and your stories follow you to every device.
Tips for a better story
Give your character something to want. A goal, a debt or a secret gives the narrator something to push against, and the story moves faster.
Be specific. "I search the desk" works; "I search the desk for the ledger the clerk mentioned" works better, because the narrator builds on every detail you give it.
Talk to people. Use Say to question, bargain or bluff. The other characters want things of their own, and conversations are where most plots turn.
Use Narrate for the twist you want: the lights go out, a rival walks in, it starts to rain. Then hand the pen back and see what the world does with it.
Pin what matters on a story card, and if a scene lands wrong, retry it rather than arguing with it.
What it is not
It is not a choice-based app with drawn art and voice acting: the story is text, and on Plus and Pro you can have any scene illustrated. There are no dice, stats or inventory numbers; what you write and the logic of the world decide what happens. It is played solo, not with friends. And because every scene is written fresh, quality can vary from one scene to the next, which is what Retry is for.
It is not for children. Glimora is for adults aged 18 and over.
What is free, and what is not
Free: 10 turns on your first day, then 4 turns every day, with no account. A turn is one scene from the narrator.
Need more on a given day? Buy turns once, from $1.99 for 100, with no subscription; they never expire. Plus gives you 100 turns a day, twice the memory and 50 illustrated scenes a month, for $9.99 a month or $79 a year. Pro gives 200 turns a day, four times the memory and 150 illustrations, for $19.99 a month or $159 a year.

Questions
›What is an AI story game?
An interactive story game where the story is not written in advance. You type what your character does, and an AI narrator writes the next scene around it, so there is no fixed list of choices and no fixed ending.
›Is it free?
Yes. 10 turns on your first day and 4 every day after that, with no account. You can buy more turns once from $1.99, or take Plus for 100 turns a day.
›Do I have to pick from a list of choices?
No. Type anything your character could do or say. If you want a nudge, tap one of the three suggested moves under each scene.
›Can I lose?

›Do I need to sign up?
No. You can start playing straight away. Signing in with Google only matters if you want your stories on more than one device.
›Does it remember what happened?
